Here's something I need to get off my chest:
We need to stop this overly rigid pursuit to PUSH OURSELVES & ACHIEVE all the time.
I can't listen to another guru saying stuff like: do the hard thing, hack the perfect morning routine, hustle, optimize your sleep, get IV drips to make up for the stress. All this biohacking, playing hard to succeed, pushing through the uncomfortable, blah blah blah...
I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with those things in small doses, but we've gone too far!
WE'RE OVERDOING IT.
We're juggling a thousands balls, and we're shaming ourselves if we drop one. And it has the opposite effects on our growth & mental well-being.
We forgot that life is about LIVING, NOT about hustling TO LIVE ONE DAY. We lost ourselves in the everyday seriousness that grew out of proportion.
We get into the grinding mode, moving through the motions, withholding play for "SOMEDAY" when we'll finally arrive (or maybe retire) so we can get more work done now.
We're serious & deliberate about EVERY-freaking-THING!
WE FEEL GUILTY ABOUT HAVING FUN.
We shame ourselves if we're too goofy. We view play time as a guilty pleasure. After all, it seems so unproductive, impractical, a waste of time, maybe even childish.
AREN'T YOU TIRED OF THIS?
Because I sure am.
All I want is to ENJOY LIFE, BELLY LAUGH, BE PLAY, BE SILLY, WASTE TIME, FORGET WHAT TIME IT IS!
AND PLAY MAKES LIFE BETTER
What do you think?
