New Thing #17:
INBOX ZERO
I know it’s the Holiday week & managing your email is the last thing you want to think about. But hear me out!
Because it’s also long hours in the car, tv watching, and not much work going on that time of the year.
So you may as well use all those little moments here and there to tidy up your inbox and start 2019 without being overwhelmed by all the crap waiting for you.
That’s what I intend to do. And I’m not talking anything fancy. I know some people love organizing their inboxes with folders, categories, and labels.
But let’s be honest, we all go straight to search when we need to find a specific email. Am I right?
So I’m skipping that & going straight for good old archiving. My only goal is to have a clean inbox by the end of the year.
So here’s what I‘m thinking in terms of Inbox Zero:
- Delete or archive as much as you can (do it without reading the emails so you don’t get sucked into it)
- Unsubscribe from the newsletters you don’t read. (a.k.a. the hard part)
- And then don’t let important emails sit the inbox for days – delegate, respond or move to other folders.
+ If you have any other good tips – as always, let me know!
That’s it.
I’m planning to be doing in in those little moments I would waste on mindlessly playing with my phone.
Join me and start 2019 with Inbox Zero! 🤘
FYI – Inbox Zero doesn’t mean zero emails, it means that you waste zero brainpower on your inbox.
