NEW THING #52:
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
If you're prepared for a zombie apocalypse, you're prepared for anything! That's what they told us at Fort Langley National Historic Site where they run a Survivalist's Guide to a Zombie Apocalypse night. No joke!
So we learned basics of emergency preparedness, how to start a fire (that's what all the stuff in the picture is for) , and which everyday materials could be turned into weapons against zombies.
But most importantly, we realized that in case of a zombie apocalypse, we would turn into walkers real quick as our emergency preparedness sucks! Apparently, Google is not a reliable source of information when things go south (what?!) due to possible power & internet outages. Actually, we were told that in case of emergencies, most probably phone lines, internet & GPS won't be working. So you can't really rely on your phone.
But here's a deal: we can prepare in advance.
And if you (just like me) haven't done it before, I highly recommend you to do a quick online search for emergency preparedness in your area.
It's all about gaining a bit of knowledge about your area, having a plan, and putting together an emergency kit.
So that's what I intend to do in the next couple of days.
How about you? Are you prepared for a zombie apocalypse?
Basic Stuff for the Emergency Kit
Okay, here's what I learned we all should have at home at all times just in case. And I don't mean keeping it in a locker (as I did) that may be difficult to get into in the dark. Ideally we should have an emergency kits at home, work, and cars.
